Our Health Guarantee
This agreement is made
for the benefit and protection of BOTH
the buyer and the seller and to guarantee that you received a healthy
puppy
upon purchase. This guarantee is non-transferable and will not be
honored if this dog is sold or otherwise transferred unless transferred
through Patriot Poodles.
- For your Health Guarantee
to be in effect, you will need to take your puppy to a licensed
veterinarian within 3 days of purchase for a well-puppy check-up.
Sundays and holidays are not counted because veterinarian offices are
not usually open for business on these days. We realize that 3
days is a short time period, but we prefer that the puppy be checked as
soon as possible before families develop a strong bonding to their new
baby.
- If within 3 days your
puppy is diagnosed with a life threatening health problem such as
heart, liver, or kidney, the puppy can be returned for a full refund
(purchase price of the puppy) plus reimbursement for the actual cost of
the well-puppy check-up. If your puppy was shipped to you, we
will also refund 100% of the actual cost of the airfare plus pay for
the cost of the puppy’s return airfare.
- If
within three years from the date of sale, this puppy is
diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian (second opinion may be requested)
with a
genetic health defect that causes death or is life threatening,
this puppy
will be replaced with another puppy of equal value as soon as one is
available.
In order to exercise such replacement option, purchaser must meet the
following
conditions, buyer must submit from a licensed veterinarian within three
years from date of purchase;
- - A
medical
report stating that a severe health problem
attributed to a genetic defect exists, or proof of death resulting from
a
genetic problem.
- - Puppy must
be either returned to the seller along with all
registration papers or if purchaser desires to keep the puppy, then
the puppy
must be spayed or neutered at purchasers expense and purchaser must
submit
proof of altering to seller.
- -
This
guarantee is non transferable and will not be honored if this
dog is sold or otherwise transferred unless transferred through Patriot
Poodles.
- Buyer
understands that the following slight genetic defects are
not considered serious or life threatening and therefore are not
covered:
umbilical hernias, un-descended testicle, or underbite or overbite.
Also, due to
environmental factors beyond our control, variations of diet and
exercise, and
differences of veterinary opinions, we will cover luxating patellaes
only upon the opionion of an agreed specialist and they make the
determination within three years of date of purchase.
- Physical injuries
occurring outside of my custody are not warranted under any condition.
- If the puppy dies within
the first 3 days of purchase, buyer must have an autopsy performed to
determine the cause of death. The purpose of the autopsy is to
verify that the puppy did not die due to injury, accident, or an
illness that was caused by the buyer. A copy of the report must
be forwarded to the seller before determining if a refund will be
provided.
- Under no circumstance or
condition will I assume liability for any surgery or medical procedure
unless said surgery or medical procedure is performed only after
consultation with my veterinarian and myself. Should surgery be
required and agreed to by the consulting veterinarians, Patriot Poodles
will pay half of the surgery cost up to one half of the purchase price
of the puppy, excluding shipping.
- If you are purchasing
this puppy for the purpose of breeding, we do not guarantee the
breeding potential of any puppy. We encourage you to spay or
neuter your pets!
To return
your puppy you must:
- Provide a signed
statement from your veterinarian showing the date, within the 3 day
period, on which he conducted his examination and the reason why he
believes the puppy has a life threatening health problem that existed
prior to you receiving the puppy.
- If buyer chooses to keep
the puppy, regardless of any health issue, seller will not issue a
refund for the cost of the puppy or for any other expense, including
airfare, or veterinarian expenses.
- If another puppy is
available, the buyer can choose a replacement puppy. A
replacement puppy is not a requirement; it is only an option
for the buyer to consider. If buyer chooses a replacement puppy
that has a value greater than the original puppy’s purchase price,
buyer is responsible for the difference in cost.
Items
not covered by your
Health Guarantee:
- Worms &
Parasites: including Coccidia and Giardia, are common in young
puppies. All puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks old,
but additional treatment may be necessary. We recommend that you
bring a stool sample from your puppy to his/her well-puppy check-up.
- Hypoglycemia: Low blood
sugar is 100% preventable.
- Umbilical Hernias: These
are common in puppies and usually disappear by 6 months of age.
They develop when the umbilical cord is cut too close to the abdomen.
- Non-life threatening
health issues.
